Ireland - West Coast - Killaloe

The Killaloe Bridge was made of wood in the 1100s and it predictably kept washing away. It wasn't until 1570 that the Church of Ireland Bishop O'Brien, ordered a primitive bridge of stone to be built. This substantial version was built in the 1800s.
